the path
The south has always been a destination. Never a point of view.
We've always been passionate about the places we frequented during the summer season. Since a young age we've noticed the textures on the boat that took us to the island, the color of the cliffs while we walked down to the beach, the shape of the shade during sunsets, the plants growing on the dunes, the architecture of certain resorts we sneaked into to use the pool.
attainable luxury
Luxury didn't feel distant. It felt accessible.
We were exposed to the typical architecture of luxury resorts. Seeing beautiful structures that blended in with the environment helped us understand how the things we create should fit with reality. It felt attainable. We frequented the tennis courts, the football pitches, the spa sometimes.
ninety days
You have ninety days where the only task you have is to entertain yourself
Summer was when you got to be bored. Ideas came out of that time period. This made us develop a particularity about things: the clothes we wore, the 4x4 rides to through the coast, the specific spot on the beach we went to, the “Bolas de Berlim” from Carlos that gave us awesome deals at the end of his shift, the items we brought to the beach and many other things that inspired us all the way to create this product.
faded by salt and sun
Present every afternoon, every season. Faded by salt and sun.
Certain objects were always part of the summer. Finishing summer, you had memorized everyone's towels. There were some people that had THEIR towel, that was it. Others would have a rotation, and for some reason the rotation felt similar. They were not bought together, but the color patterns had something in common, the wash, the wear. You just felt like they belonged together. The best towels were always the ones most used. Years of summer.
terracotta at last light
The beach towel is the only must-carry object
When you are in the Algarve, that is what we had in mind for this colorway. The ride up through the cliffs as we left the beach at sunset, only a few used those tight paths, but we knew that the worse the access, the better the beach.
